One diesel in the family wasn’t enough, and I stumbled across yet another car in a field–ironically, the same field that yielded the Wayward Fiat. Trundle was a different story, however. With a new battery, the grumbly old Mercedes ran. The W114 chassis is another one of those tough ones, those cars that’ll run forever with a bit of love. I just can’t seem to resist cars like that. Especially when they’re in fields or junkyards.
Trundle spent a year as a daily driver, then a couple of years in storage, and is now polished up and back in service.
